An anthropologist proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe

An anthropologist proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the kids that who ever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run like that as one could have had all the fruits for himself they said: ''UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?''  'UBUNTU' in the Xhosa culture means: "I am because we are"

Gorgeous Caracal kittens

Gorgeous Caracal kittens  The name Caracal is derived from a Turkish word “karakulak” meaning “black ear.” The Caracal was once tamed and trained for bird hunting in Iran and India. They were put into arenas containing a flock of pigeons, and wagers were made as to how many the cat would take down. This is the origination of the expression “to put a cat amongst the pigeons.” The Caracal is capable of leaping into the air and knocking down 10-12 birds at one time!

Facts about Pregnancy and Birth of Dolphins

Facts about Pregnancy and Birth of Dolphins. It’s an amazing fact that besides the technological advancements humans have not yet been able to observe the birth of the dolphins in the wild. For now whatever information has been gained is based on the dolphins in captivity. So today we are going to share this miracle birthing process of the dolphins with you. The period of sexual maturity differs in both males and females and also the geographical location play an important role in sexual development. The maturity age for male dolphin is 10 to 15 years, whereas for females sexual maturity begins at an early age i.e. at 5 to 13 years.  Another interesting fact is that in most cases the sexual maturity determinant is the body size and not the age. When females gain 85 to 95% of adult body size they reach sexual maturity. Female do not have a constant ovulation cycle and they are believed to ovulate spontaneously for one to six times in a year. Usually the presence of a male dolphin stimulates ovulation. Unlike other monogamous mammals, dolphins breed with several partners during the breeding season.

Rihanna wins court

A London judge has ruled in favor of Rihanna in a lawsuit she brought against Topshop, accusing the British retailer of using a photo of her without her permission on T-shirts that it sold for a profit under the name "Rihanna Tank."
That's because the image Topshop acquired from a photographer was similar to photos taken of Rihanna during filming of a music video in Northern Ireland in 2011, which ended up being included in the CD sleeve of her album Talk That Talk. And RiRi's lawyers claimed that such use of her image on unauthorized tees was deceptive.

Thunderstorm at False Kiva

I hiked out to these ruins at night hoping to photograph them with the Milky Way, but instead a thunderstorm rolled through, creating this dramatic image. —Max Seigal

National Geographic Traveler Director of Photography Dan Westergren, one of this year's judges, shares his thoughts on the second place winner:

“This photo combines two different scenes into one: the small kiva in a cliff dwelling and the grand vista of Canyonlands National Park across the valley. I really like the two different color palettes—warm inside and purple outside. This two-for-one scene was caused by the lightning storm outside the dwelling, which lit up the landscape like it was a huge electronic flash. Looking at this picture I can imagine what a wonderful sight it must have been for the ancient people who lived here. It doesn't seem too amazing now in our modern world, but might have been mind-blowing for the prehistoric residents.”
